Together, We’re Starting a New Chapter for Safer Roads!

21 August 2025

Young teen girl confidently drives the streets of Edmonton after successfully after getting her drivers licence, knowing that she's learned how to be a safe driver.

Every young Albertan deserves a safe start when learning to drive—and that’s where this journey begins. With AMA’s Driver Education: School Edition, teachers like you are helping develop your students’ driving skills, and you’re helping to inspire what we believe can be their lifelong habits on the road.

Through the learning materials available through this program, driving theory becomes more than a simple set of rules to remember. Instead, you’ll help to foster a familiar learning environment for students to ask questions, build confidence, and celebrate each step forward—from their first login, first online lesson, and first big “aha!” moment.

Your Teacher Portal

This portal (i.e. the one you’re logged into right now) will serves as your first point of support. When logged in, you’ll find a growing collection of practical guides to kick off the program, easy access codes for quick student portal registration, ready-made resources for parents and students, and clear info about fees and permissions. We’re doing all that we can to make this online space, your space. This portal should provide you with everything a school needs to guide new drivers from the first click in the student portal right through to the final online course exam that can earn your students a formal letter of completion.

Here’s how to get started:

  • Share your access code:
Find it in your portal dashboard and give it to students for enrolment.
  • Use our classroom resources:
Download slides, handouts, and communication tools to introduce the program.
  • Follow the step-by-step guide:
Get clear instructions for registration, permissions, and managing fees.

You can visit the “How to Get Started” page for a guided walkthrough of the site.

We’re glad you’re here to help lead the way!

And whenever you need some added guidance or support, AMA’s Driver Education team is ready to help—we’re just an email or phone call away.
