- Workforce readiness: These lessons can help prepare students for jobs in Alberta that require a Class 5 licence.
- Transferable skills: Reinforces time management, goal setting, and accountability.

How do we fit this course into our regular school programming?
AMA’s online driving courses are flexible and can be integrated into your school’s schedule in various ways:
- Within CALM 20
- As part of summer school
- During flex blocks
- During experiential learning weeks
We’re happy to help you figure out the best fit for your school’s programming.
My school has both junior high and high school students. Can we offer both programs?
Absolutely. When completing the enrollment form for your school, let us know that you would like to sign up for both the New Driver Program and Learner’s Licence Prep.
If I’m the teacher facilitating this course, what does that mean?
Once your school has enrolled and your teacher account is set up, you will be able to log in to access course materials and resources. You won’t need to teach the course content, but you will help students get started and stay on track.
- Share the course registration information with students.
- Set deadlines or completion goals based on your school schedule.
- Occasionally check student progress and provide reminders as needed.
What do students get if they pass the course?
Students who pass Learner’s Licence Prep will be better prepared with the tools and knowledge to take their Class 7 knowledge test.
Students who pass the New Driver Program may receive a Letter of Completion. If they also complete a minimum of 10 hours of in-vehicle lessons, they may receive a certificate after passing their in-vehicle training.
Is there an advantage to taking these courses through School Edition?
Yes. Because schools register as a group, students can access either course at a reduced cost of $40 per student.
Students also benefit from additional support from their teacher and peers while learning about safe driving, career readiness, and practical life skills.
Who pays the $40 fee per student?
You can choose the model that works best for your school. Some schools include the cost in student fees, while others use school budget or grant funding to cover the cost.
Does AMA Driver Ed: School Edition include in-vehicle lessons?
No. School Edition includes online theory courses delivered through schools. AMA Driving School does offer in-vehicle lessons separately, and students are encouraged to take in-vehicle training before driving independently.
